June 1, 2014 - This was a pleasant weekend for some radio fun! The weather has been sunny and comfy: the perfect opportunity for antenna work. I managed to replace the 6M wire on my HEX beam (problem solved) and was finally back on 50Mhz. Once I wrapped up my antenna work, it was time to snag a few unexpected contacts from the shack. They're documented below and include:
- SABLE ISLAND 211 CY0 - First QSO with this entity
- Japan, Netherlands, Slavbard, Slovak Republic - All new bands
- ARRL Centennial Contacts
All in all, this was a great weekend for ham radio. My primary station is slowly getting back on the air. I hope to fix my 40/75M antenna woes and to get those bands working again. In the meanwhile, I enjoyed making several new contacts and adding two new DXCC entities to my log.
