May 25, 2014 (2:42PM) - Band conditions are eerily similar to last year. The propagation "feed" states conditions are good; however, there's virtually no DX on the phone sections of HF. This seems to be an annual trend.

The QCWW CW contest is alive, which may account for limited stations on SSB. I've spent the day (Sunday, 5/25/14) tweaking antennas, taking assessment of items that still require repair and listening to 15 Meters.
Update (4:10PM) - Well, the bands are still very quiet. I managed to make a QSO with E51AVE on 10M SSB (this is a new band for South Cook Islands), as noted above. This is a good reminder: interesting contacts often appear when the bands are quiet!
May 25 - 27, 2013 - It's been a cool and windy Memorial Day Weekend. I've taken extra time off to rest and hoped to work some DX on HF bands. No such luck.
The HF propagation has, for the most part, been pretty lousy here in the Mid-Atlantic. I've kept an eye on Solar Weather and Propagation plots ... and it seems the sun has been a bit fussy lately.
